called ID Check. This is an additional level of Identity
Authentication and Verification. ARC is providing this new product
to it’s customers who wish to have another level of data
verification in compliance with the newly mandated Red Flag Rules.
ID Check is
the essential verification tool for both consumer and business
information to help streamline loan application decisions and reduce
fraud. Powered by Experian’s extensive verification database, ARC’s
ID Check allows the financial institution to quickly and accurately
validate customer information against known data sources. A powerful
search engine will instantly generate and summarize results from 140
different result codes along with a verification score. This product
also includes a standard OFAC alert.
ARC’s ID Check
verifies and validates accuracy of customer data including the
following:

Address
o
Social Security – full or last four digits
o
Telephone number
o
Date of birth
o
Driver’s license
The Federal
Trade Commission (FTC), the federal bank regulatory agencies, and
the National Credit Union Administration (NCUA) have issued
regulations (the Red Flags Rules) requiring financial institutions
and creditors to develop and implement written identity theft
prevention programs, as part of the Fair and Accurate Credit
Transactions (FACT) Act of 2003. The programs must be in place by
November 1, 2008, and must provide for the identification,
detection, and response to patterns, practices, or specific
activities – known as “red flags” – that could indicate identity
theft.
